Your team can execute.
What they can’t do is tell themselves what to build.
The CMO On-Staff Retainer installs a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer inside your business. Someone building campaigns, directing your team, and helping translate your genius into visibility and sales that stack — so the marketing decisions don’t all route back to you.
Which means you get to do the work only you can do.
cmo on-staff
a premium marketing + sales strategy retainer for established founders who are done being the de facto head of marketing in their business
INTRODUCING
You’re running a legit business. One you used to dream of.
Revenue is coming in, even if it’s not quite as much or as consistent as you’d like. I know you’re a big dreamer who wants more money as much as they want a lovely, peaceful life at the same time.
Your clients get legitimately epic results, and you know your offers are some of the best (if not the best) in your industry. You’ve got something special. Even if it doesn’t always feel like you’re getting the recognition your brand and business deserves.
You've got people on your team (or at least contracted to your business) who are genuinely capable of doing good work.
THE PROBLEM?
You also have a marketing and sales operation where you are still, inexplicably, the person everyone is waiting on.
You know those weeks when…
Your copywriter needs direction.
Your ads manager needs strategy.
Someone just finished a campaign asset in Canva (using the template that you put together when they asked if you had something they could reference) and wants to know what's next.
A launch is approaching and nobody has pulled the strategic thread together yet, so you’re holding all the decisions… is there a launch event? What’s the topic? Are you doing a bonus — and if yes, what? When are you going live? Where are you publishing content? Who’s creating the content — and what exactly should it say?
And that someone who's going to pull it together? Default: you.
Not because you want it to be you… But because there's no one else in that seat, so your brain fills it. Every time something needs to be figured out — what you're selling, when, how it's positioned, why last month's campaign didn't hit, whether the messaging on the new offer is right — it lands on your desk. Because you're the only one who sees the whole picture…
Meanwhile the work you’re so brilliant at, the work you started this whole business to do?
It waits on the sidelines…
Most solutions to this involve making you better at strategy. A coach. A course. A consultant with a great framework. And those things are genuinely useful, if what you want is to be more involved in your marketing. If the goal is to understand it better, own it more fully, become a sharper decision-maker in that area.
And yes, I’ve got an offer if that’s what you want. Click here to learn more.
But what if you don't want that?
What if what you actually want is someone who comes in, gets inside your business, builds the strategic foundation, directs the team, holds the positioning, and runs the marketing direction — while you do what you built this for? Not an advisor who hands you homework. Not another thing that requires your time and brainpower to activate. An actual strategic partner who is IN the work with you, making the calls that currently feel like yours to make because nobody else is making them.
That's the CMO Retainer, where you get a Fractional CMO embedded inside your business.
You want to know that your messaging and sales systems are doing their job without being the one making the decisions — so you can focus on delivering your incredible work and living your lush life.
THAT’S WHAT CMO ON-STAFF GIVES YOU.
Is this you?
01 | You’re doing meaningful revenue (typically $250k-$300k and up) and have some team or contractor support. But… the marketing decisions are still yours by default, not design.
02 | You have contractors who can execute (and who you love) but no one with a senior strategic view telling them what to build, in what order, and connected to what bigger picture goal.
03 | You have multiple offers and no one single person holding the architecture of how they work together — so positioning drifts, messaging gets wonky, and you feel like you’re never sure whether what you’re doing is moving you closer to your big 3- and 5-year goals and 10-year goals.
04 | You’re heading into a season where you’ve got some hella big ambitions. A launch you want to double or more. A year where you want to hit a certain number. A new offer. You want a real strategic guide going into it, not a plan you have to implement yourself on the fly.
05 | You’ve worked with coaches or consultants before, gotten genuinely excellent ideas, and still been the one responsible for figuring out every single piece of how to bring the damn things to life… and you want something seriously different this time.
As your Fractional CMO, I cover all of these bases.

If you read through that whole list and are giving me a bit of side eye, I get it. That’s a big range.
But effective sales strategy and resonant messaging is a universal need for every one of these businesses, and I’m a pro at getting to the heart of what your people need to hear, see and feel in order to buy.
What this work looks like in the wild…
One of my clients ran a high-touch coaching and digital education company for elite athletes.
Solid revenue, a good number of launches under their belt. Support from contractors.
Multiple offers that had sold again and again. And still — sales and marketing felt harder than it should.
Hiring decisions were made without a clear framework for what the company actually needed.
The website was a serious mismatch with how excellent the work actually was. Launches were inconsistent.
Within a few weeks of working together, we repositioned a mastermind they’d been selling and in less than 10 days it sold out, generating around $50,000 in revenue.
At the close of another program, I built an upsell strategy to move those clients into a membership offer, with a positioning shift that supported a price increase. Highest client retention they’d ever had.
The annual plan we built led to a 66% increase in gross revenue that year, with profit margins that improved significantly alongside it.
The following launch, I coordinated the whole team through execution — and we more than doubled revenue from the prior launch, hit the first six-figure launch, and within four months of working together had generated 50% of the revenue the company made in the entire previous year.

Meet Chelsea, aka The Business Whisperer
I’m equal parts strategist, storyteller, and nervous system whisperer. Yes, we’ll map campaigns, offers, and dashboards. But I’ll also remind you that you don’t need to be glued to Instagram (or use it at all), force urgency you don’t believe in, or stretch yourself thinner just to hit a number.
I’ve spent nearly a decade helping founders across industries and income levels refine their sales messaging and systems so they can sell with consistency, without sacrificing creativity or wellbeing. My clients aren’t beginners; they’ve launched, served clients who rave about them, maybe even sold out a time or two. And they’re ready for their sales to feel as good and reliable as the work they deliver.
(And if you’re newer but ready to step into that level of clarity and consistency, you’ll be right at home here, too.)
What I’m known for? Translating your hard-won expertise into a sales system that feels so good to you: clear, repeatable, and rooted in empathy. I’ve built messaging and sales strategies for everyone from creatives scaling their first signature offer to multi-six-figure CEOs looking for smarter, more sustainable growth that lets them become known without feeling the pressure to be on every platform.

The Empathy Edge is a done-with-you engagement. You stay hands-on in your marketing, I coach and support you through the strategy, and you execute. It's designed for founders who want to understand their sales system and be inside of it — who want the skill, not just the outcome, and who genuinely want to be involved in the process. The CMO Retainer is structurally different. I'm embedded in your business, directing your team, building your campaign and positioning infrastructure, and holding the strategic layer of your marketing alongside you. You're still informed and in the loop. You're just not the one carrying every decision.
If you’re not sure which is best for you, book a call and let’s chat.
-
No. I provide strategy and creative direction. Your team creates the content. What I make sure of is that everything your team produces is working from the right foundation — the positioning is right, the campaign logic is sound, the messaging is actually doing what it needs to do.
This is for the founder who’s ready to grow beyond referrals, repeat buyers, or one good launch, and wants a sales system that makes selling feel natural and repeatable.
-
Yes, and that's a big part of what makes this work. One of the more common frustrations I hear from founders is that they're the translation layer between their vision and their team's output — every decision routes back through them because no one else understands the strategic picture well enough to make the call.
That role is mine in this engagement. Your copywriter, your ads manager, your content person — they have someone to go to for direction, and it's not you by default.
-
Worth a conversation. This engagement works best when there's some execution capacity in place, even if it's lean. If you're mostly flying solo right now, the Empathy Edge is probably the better starting point. Not sure which one makes sense? Reach out and we'll figure it out together.
-
I know this answer is annoying, but the truth is it varies. I’ve had clients generate over 100% ROI within month one, and clients who aren’t seeing the kind of growth we’re going for until months 5-6 and beyond.
Month one is foundational — audit, planning, getting the team oriented and working from a shared strategic base. Not the most dramatic-feeling month, but everything after depends on it.
By months two and three, campaigns are moving, positioning is sharpening, and the team's output starts to feel more cohesive. By month four, the business typically looks meaningfully different from where it started.
By month six, you've had a full cycle to actually see what a well-directed marketing operation can generate.
